Hyaluronic dermal fillers have become the gold standard in the last ten years when it comes to filling facial wrinkles. Hyaluronic fillers are most often used to fill already formed wrinkles for the purpose of rejuvenation, although they are now used in people over 25 years of age, as a prevention of wrinkles. There are several reasons for the great increase in the popularity of fillers – their compatibility and biodegradation in the skin, simple and painless application, and minimal complications. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that has a large share in the construction of the extracellular space of our skin, where it plays a very important role in water balance and healing, precisely because it provides good hydration. The biggest benefit of using dermal fillers is that hyaluronic fillers affect the regeneration and formation of new collagen.

Hyaluronic fillers can be used to treat all areas of the face: the nasolabial folds, marionette wrinkles, “barcode” wrinkles (vertical wrinkles above the upper lip, so-called “smoking wrinkles”), eyelids, they can be used for lip augmentation, general increase of lost facial volume (e.g. cheeks), and correcting facial contours (e.g. chin).

We always strive for a “less is more” approach – we want our clients to maintain a natural look with minimal corrections. Therefore, it is very important to emphasize that hyaluronic fillers enable achieving and maintaining the natural look of facial contours. By treating certain parts of the face with special techniques, the facelift effect is achieved.

The course of treatment

The treatment is performed in an outpatient clinic and involves several stages.

  • First of all, the most important thing is to have an initial conversation with the patient, to find out all the wishes and expectations of the patient.
  • The patient signs a consent form for the procedure.
  • After the conversation, a facial treatment plan is made and the dermal filler to be applied is chosen.
  • After that, the preparations start, and the treatment is performed.
  • The filler is injected into the desired area using small, thin needles. During the treatment, the patient is informed about how many fillers have been injected and if the patient wants, he/she can look at the effect of what has been done at any time.
  • After the treatment, the physician applies a post-procedural cream that alleviates redness and possible skin irritation.

That is why most patients leave the Clinic without any signs that the treatment had taken place.

Preparation of the patient

Hyaluronic filler treatments do not require a long preparation – the patients are ready for the treatment within 15 minutes.

  • To begin with, before the treatment it is necessary to remove all makeup in the places which are going to be treated.
  • It is extremely important to disinfect the area to be treated, after removing the makeup.
  • After the disinfection, an anesthetic cream is applied to the area to be treated to alleviate injection stings.
  • After 15 minutes the anesthetic is removed, the face is disinfected again and the application of dermal fillers can start.

Duration of the treatment

The duration of the treatment and the initial conversation is about one hour. The duration depends on whether the patient is coming to a particular treatment for the first time and whether he/she knows exactly what he/she wants to treat. The treatment lasts 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the areas to be treated and the amount of filler applied.

Results and recovery

The results of the treatment with hyaluronic fillers are visible immediately after the treatment. Due to possible redness on the skin, swelling or bruising, which subside within a few days, the true results will be visible after that. It takes a minimum of 2 weeks for the preparation to be redistributed and to see the true effect. Therefore, if the patient wishes to repeat the treatment, it is recommended to wait a certain time for the true results to become visible.

Precautions

After the treatment with dermal fillers, redness, bruising, swelling or tenderness may appear at the injection site. The redness usually disappears after a few hours, while the swelling and bruising usually disappear within a few days. The side effects are extremely rare. After the treatment with dermal fillers, it is recommended to avoid saunas, sun exposure, tanning salons, and pressuring the area of the face that has been treated.

THE MOST POPULAR TREATMENT WITH DERMAL FILLERS – LIP AUGMENTATION – LIP DESIGN

Lip augmentation is performed by a non-surgical and minimally invasive method of application of a certain preparation, which results in a larger volume of the lips and highlighting of certain strategic places. Lip augmentation is most often performed on younger people with primarily smaller volumes, i.e. thin lips, or on older persons who had experienced tissue atrophy in the area of the lips. There are two basic types of preparations (fillers): one group belongs to the so-called permanent fillers and the other to semi-permanent or resorptive fillers. The generally accepted method in the world of today’s modern approach to anti-aging is the use of semi-permanent, i.e. degradable fillers – dermal hyaluronic fillers.

At our Clinic we use Teosyal®RHA hyaluronic fillers which are a result of the work of the Teoxane laboratory, and which were created due to a desire to create fillers that will move with the movements of your face. They are characterized by a special way of binding hyaluronic acid chains, which better preserves their duration.

Preparation of the patient

Before the procedure, it is important to discuss with your physician what effect you want to achieve in terms of augmentation, because the amount of preparation that will be used depends on that. However, it is important to note that one should not exaggerate.

The course of the procedure

The lip augmentation treatment begins with a careful disinfection of the treated region and targeted and appropriate anesthesia. After that, the dermal filler in the form of an injection is applied along the edge of the lips and into the lips in order to model the lips and achieve the desired shape and volume. There are various techniques for the application of dermal fillers that achieve different effects, depending on the desires and to achieve the best possible effect. The procedure is short and well tolerated, there is no pain after the procedure.

Recovery after the procedure

If a swelling occurs, it takes about 24-48 hours for it to subside completely, and after two weeks we can expect to see the final result. There is a possibility of hematomas appearing at the sites of application, but after a few days they disappear completely. After the treatment, during the first day, it is necessary to avoid putting on makeup and drinking alcohol, in order to avoid unnecessary swelling that calms down within two days. It is recommended to use certain cosmetics to alleviate the tissue reaction, but only as per recommendation of the physician (creams, ointments). For example Teoxane creams – Post Procedure or Deep Repair Balm, which instantly alleviate and remove redness.
